The Folk Alliance International conference, held each February, is the world’s largest gathering of the folk music industry and community - crossing a diverse array of genres including Appalachian, Americana, Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Cajun, Francophone, Global Roots, Indigenous, Latin, Old Time, Traditional, Singer-Songwriter, and Spoken Word.

The 2019 conference will take place in Montréal, Quebec from February 13 - 17, and applications for this year's Folk DJ scholarship are now being accepted until September 30th. The scholarship is available to emerging internet, satellite, or terrestrial broadcasters who program Folk and Global Roots formats, and who have a minimum of one - but no more than eight - years of broadcasting experience. The scholarship provides one full conference registration, travel expenses, and hotel accommodations.
