Description: "Just one of the People." Doc Watson is truly just one of the people that influenced me, but when I heard Deep River Blues - time stopped. I came to understand how he was incorporating the blues scale leads into his picking over the chords in the key. Listening to him tell how he adapted this song from multiple instruments to one guitar and how long he worked at it was encouraging.
I did not set out to copy or sound like Doc, although I was directly influenced by him. I was composing this song at the time of his death so I dedicate it to him.
