Halo

The halo wraps around this blue moon and I'm sitting here
I gaze out my window, and see the same stars streaming, gleaming
Hope can only go so far to save a love so true
But if love is the truth why do I hope to know the answers

I'm hanging on to a thread but it's unraveling
I'm standing on the edge of a limb
aren't older branches
supposed to grow stronger
Fear reaches deep inside and cuts down to your soul
It can rock the strongest heart and shatter what you've come to know

You can look up to the sky and dream your days away
You can reach up to the stars and wish your life away
But all we really have
Is this single moment
All we really know
Is this point in time

The universe is moving forward just as it should do
My mind is clouded by illusions that I hold of you
But I will trust that all is well and what we come to seek
