Description: This is a true story.
Max Maurer, a village policeman, saves 13 Jews from the Nazis, risking his life. And the village refuses to rename the local primary school in his honor.
I sent the song to John Weiner, one of the Jews who was saved by Maurer. He had been living in Australia for decades when he received the cd. John called me on the phone and thanked me for the song, said, 'And thatīs exactly what happened.'
John Weiner died a while ago. I am glad he heard the song in praise of the man who saved him.
Some people do the right thing. Heroes.
Some people are so small-minded it hurts.
