Artist Biography:
ROY HURD is a dynamic performer and a world class singer songwriter. In the years he has been performing Roy has played his brand of mountain music for enthusiastic audiences nationally, and has developed a following unparalleled in the Adirondack Mountains. Roy's song, "Adirondack Blue," has become a modern-day Adirondack anthem, and his recordings are regional best sellers. Roy's newest CDs, "No Sad Stories Tonight," his 7th,
"Random Thoughts On Life And Love," his 8th, and Adirondack Rain his 9th shine bright with Roy's soul and craft.

From 1990 to 2001 Roy held a staff songwriter position in Nashville, writing for two of the largest publishing companies in the world, Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music. Roy has had songs recorded by Paul Brandt, on his gold Warner/Reprise Records release, "Calm Before The Storm," David Kersh, Curb Records, Sonya Isaacs, Lyric Street Records, The Oak Ridge Boys, Spring Hill Records, Duane Steele, Mercury Records, The Gibson Brothers, Sugar Hill Records, and Jo Dee Messina has recorded one of Roy's songs, "Nothing I Can Do," on her Platinum Curb Records release, "Burn."

Roy has two Arts in Education programs he has developed for elementary schools. His "Walk on the Mountain" storytelling, music, woodland skills program, has delighted children and presented them with the concept of "Earth Morals" for the past 20 years. His "Rhyme Without Reason" songwriting program has given young people a first hand experience in the songwriting process.
