| Artist Biography: |
I am a sometimes singer, songwriter, teacher and sometimes political activist, born in NY, resident physically in Japan and--occasionally-- Boston. Have mostly been out of the U.S. for 27 years or so, since the late 70s.
In Boston, I was very glad a few years ago to get aquainted with the work of such diverse musicians as Dar Williams (I love her song PLAY THE GREED) and David Rovics. Both were on MIT and TUFTS radio, thanks to another refugee from the late 60s, Chuck Rosina, who has had shows there for a million years (we were founders of John Adams Students and Faculty for Peace in 1968).
I am not strictly a protest singer, and I often do not like the overt, in your face type of song. In that sense i am more like Tom Paxton, for whom protest and love songs are two sides of a many-sided coin.
I hope to hear from other musician-activists. I give space on my website to like-minded people, and am presently hosting feminist and environmental-related sites. Please contact me if you are short of funds and have a good cause to promote and we will see if we can give you some space too.
