| Artist Biography: |
Greg Allen is a singer-songwriter with a twist. For the past 12 years he has dedicated a great deal of his musical efforts to bringing live folk and acoustic music to a variety of special audiences.
In addition to writing songs, recording cd's and building his public performance credentials he has developed the SongSharing organization. SongSharing is a unique 501c3 non-profit organization that is Making Music More Accessible™(3MA). We do this by bringing live musical performances to a variety of underserved audiences. Thru our 3MA Community Venues program SongSharing coordinates intimate on-site performances for seniors, adults and children in special situations. These “alternative venues” include the Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Center, Region 10’s Meadowcreek Center and Horizon Clubhouse , and a number of senior living and care facilities. In all SongSharing musicians provide 3 to 4 shows on a regular weekly basis, as well as several specially scheduled shows each month. Through the generous support of donors and business sponsors SongSharing is able to provide these shows free of charge.
SongSharing has exposed Greg to a variety of local, regional and national musicians, and some great musical friendships have formed. This influence is clear in Greg's latest recording, a 7-song EP with a great deal of support from some talented area musicians. This cd will be released to support SongSharing and bring awareness to the musicians that support the effort.
Greg has been performing publicly for almost 10 years in a duo called Grasping At Laws. Granville Braxton is the constant partner, providing wonderful djembe based percussion and backing vocals. They are routinely joined by friends when they perform and record.
