Artist Biography:
Claiming inspiration from artists such as Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams Sr., and Bob Dylan, up and coming singer/songwriter Matthew Reveles also sports some influences that may not be evident at first listen- such as Elliott Smith and Jonah Matranga of Far and Onelinedrawing fame. Arriving on the Phoenix scene in early 2003 with his first solo EP titled ‘Everything they have to offer and more’, after a slew of failed band attempts stretching as far back as 1997. The 24 year olds style is a unique blend of standard Americana and early blues driven alt-country harmonies. “ I’m no folk singer” remarks Reveles as he puffs on a cigarette on the 6th street in Austin, TX at this years South by Southwest music festival, “I just try to make some good tunes that hopefully people will dig, while still paying homage to the greats like Hank [Williams Sr.] and [Neil] Young”.

Look out for an upcoming full length album by Matthew due out late 2006. Also, check out his profile on myspace (myspace.com/matthewreveles) for more songs and info on upcoming shows in a town near you.
