Following the acclaimed reviews of 2013’s Behind The Door, Stonecraft
are pleased to announce the release of their new studio album Seven
Hunters on the 17th December. The album consists of ten tracks and
was written and recorded in La Croixille, France. The duo carry on their
work with sound engineer Tim Hamil and the artwork is by Doug
Stonecraft is a musical collaboration between Welsh musician Andy
Morgan and Norwegian Viil Hov Fjøse.
The album has a contemporary folk-rock feel and the duo continue to
develop their own distinctive acoustic sound created by vocal harmonies
combined with the use of Celtic instruments such as the cittern and the
Drawing from the Progressive rock movement along with the folk revival
of the late 1960’s, the sound has been influenced by a wide variety of
musical genres and literary references. However, these are just some
elements of the sound - close your eyes and the music takes on deeper
nuances from Celtic and Viking mysticism.
Seven Hunters is Stonecraft’s fourth album having released The Call
in 2008, Moving Tides in 2010 and Behind the Door in 2013.
The duo has appeared at a number of festivals in Brittany including
Gouel an Eost in 2014 and Port en Fete in 2016. The duo continues to
play live extensively throughout France.
