Artist Biography:
Karolis Rupkus (Rupkus) (born 29 May 1987) is a Lithuanian indie music artist, journalist and songwriter. Influenced by artists such as Leonard Cohen, Bod Dylan and Glen Hansard Karolis had discovered his own unique musical style based on acoustic indie blues sounds and deep lyrics.

Karolis Rupkus was born in Klaipėda (Lithuania) and lives there at this moment. His proffesional music career started in 2007 when he and three of his friends musicians formed a local poprock band called “Arrogantics”. In 7 year band had recorded few radio singles, made more than one hundred gigs all over the Lithuania, even was selected to be a warm-up band for local music legend Andrius Mamontovas on his “1000 concerts” tour in 2009. But in 2014 band members had friendly decided to end “Arrogantics” musical activity without releasing any studio album.

The same year Karolis Rupkus started his solo career. In 2014 Rupkus song “I Will Stop The Time” was selected as a main theme of TV commercial for “Merrild” coffee brand. The same year Karolis Rupkus had collaborated with well know Lithuanian synth-pop artist and producer “GeraiGerai”. In 2015 Rupkus and “GeraiGerai” had released two successful radio singles “Without them” and “Black turtle”.

In 2016 Rupkus had released his first solo album “Camera”. All album was recorded and produced by Rupkus in his home studio. The 9 song debut recording had received well critical acclaims and songs from the album “Soldier Never Cries”, “Perfect Day To Run” and “Don’t Hold Your Horses” received airplay on indie music radio stations in Lithuania, UK, Ireland and Poland.
