| Artist Biography: |
Pat Villines, from the Ozark hills, and Mattie Speece, from the Ouachita Mountains, where both Arkansas born and raised. They crossed paths in Fayetteville, AR, where Mattie was finishing her BFA and Pat was busy playing and singing in a popular bluegrass band called Wildwood, which appeared on Michael Feldmans "What Ya' Know" Show. Four years later, after building a house together(literally) and marrying, Mattie finally decided to let Pat know that she could sing. They recorded one song, and entered it in a talent show on A Prairie Home Companion, and won second place. "Phoebe" is an original written two weeks before being performed on the show.
