Am seeing the newly remodeled site for the first time today and just want to say: nice.

Not wild about the new site-I could navigate the old one easier. Right now am unable to listen to the stream, even though I am logged in. All I get is the fund raiser promo over and over again. The graphics are more attracive though.

Britt,

All of the streams should be working for you. I've e-mailed you directly asking for additional information so that we can troubleshoot this issue.

Hello my friends:

I like your new format but most impressed with the live concerts, especially John Gorka and David Francey. It would be great if you could continue with either live or recorded concerts on a regular basis throughout the year. Keep up the good work.

Awesome new design for the site! More appealing to those of us who grew up in the computer era! Although young "folkies" may be few and far between, I took some of my friends from Kent State to John Gorka and they had a blast! Great programming!

Here in Dallas (one of the major radio markets in the country), there has been no worthwhile music on the radio since our local NPR station went all "talk" 4 years ago. Folk Alley is the primary reason that I got DSL! I wish I could take you in the car with me. Keep up the incredible work. I spread the word about you to everyone I can.

I think this site is fantastic. You should be proud of all your accomplishments this year. Thank you so much for keeping this music alive and kickin'

For Jim Blumm,

Just caught a snippet of you saying the first recording of unchained melody was by the Righteous Brothers. Actually, back in the 50's a fabulous ryhtum and pop singer named Al Hibler recorded Unchained Melody. I think he was also blind. But man o man, could he sing.

Many interesting site features are little used. These include rating and commenting on songs. Perhaps that's because the features are somewhat hidden beyond the "now playing" button -- which many visitors may not even realize is clickable.

Please consider a site re-design to better highlight interactive features. If that's not feasible, try this quick fix. Just add "rate this song" and a "comment on this song" buttons to the existing homepage, immeidately beneath the "now playing" button. Clicking on each button could lead to the same page as the current "now playing" button does. You might also try a "buy this song" button.

For Jim Blum and Jay Gottlieb:
I believe that Unchained Medody was first sung, before Al Hibler, in the movie, Unchained, by Todd Duncan. The film starred Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch.

I've been away from the Phily folk scene for over 30 years, maybe longer. Listened to Gene Shay in the sixties and seventies before I took off for New York and it's wonderful to get folk music again.

I remember Gene Shay when he had a young Joni Mitchell on the air and the Second Fret was still around.

Great to hear this wonderful music on instead of hip hop and rap, etc.

I agree about the confusing "interactive" facility (Dan Freeman above. Perhaps it would be used more if it was lined better to the home page? I dont contribute as much as I could (perhaps thats the idea!!!), because there is no easy access.
