2008 was another outstanding year for new music, and just like the diverse music you hear on Folk Alley, our hosts and staff have wide ranging tastes as well. We love it all - everything from contemporary singer/songwriters, Americana, Celtic, Bluegrass & Old-Time, World Music, and more.

Check out Folk Alley's individual staff & host "favorites" lists for 2008.

I heard some one is looking for good John Denver music. There is a guy on here by the name of Ron Rich he played on the Sterling Casino when I was there in Florida. He has a Great Voice and sounds alot like him. He also has a song on here by the name of Your Driving me Crazy. Its pretty Damnn good. I`m pretty sure thats the name of it. I met him outside of the show and I guess he just got back form New Zealand from doing a tour. Anyways Great muscian!.... Love the Song Rich!..........

Has anyone heard the new Rita Hosking CD "Come Sunrise". I'm a big fan, think this is a great CD, can't find it on Folk Alley. She played Strawberry, the Kate Wolf Festival, and Sisters this year. Can't figure out why she's not being heard more.

Folk has always been my alternative music. When I mention John Prine, people usually say John who? This is a great opportunity to expose lesser known talent. I found Folk Alley exploring my HD tuner and I am sorry I didn't find you sooner.

Lots of good stuff here--kudos in particular to Chris for his choice of Fotheringay 2, not only the year's most outstanding CD (imho), but also certainly the most unexpected.
