single purchases
Just wondering if more experienced Folk Alley afficionado's know of a way to buy and download single cuts they hear on folk Alley? I loved this "Too Soon Tomorrow" by Brewer and Shipley.

Musical Stone Age
Unfortunately, many of the record labels involved in recording and distributing Folk music are still trapped in a musical Stone Age - they are terrified of satellite radio, single-song downloads, or anything more advanced than traditional CD sales. Many are just releasing CDs, after years of holding out on vinyl or cassette. This hurts their artists, their distribution, and their status in the industry, but they have not yet seen the need to make the right moves. Explaining to them that downloads were up 400% last year while brick-and-mortar sales remained flat doesn't help either. It is as frustrating for those of us recording CDs that very few ever get to hear as it is for you listeners who are denied the opportunity to purchase our work. But when someone else's money is being invested, how they lose their money is up to them.

I just heard Jim refer to Brewer & Shipley as "a short-lived duo." FYI, they still perform in the Missouri-Kansas area. Check their website for information, including how to purchase CDs.
