just a really pretty new voice - very nice !, nice bass part as well :) - i always find when i'm attracted to the tune there is something going on in the bass part although the good composers do good things with the middle voices as well

The Rankins - pride of Cape Breton
The Rankin Family was/is the pride of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. With a mix of pop/country sensibility and a deep respect for the traditional music of Cape Breton, the Rankin Family was enormously popular throughout Canada for a decade, bringing attention to the extraordinary music of Cape Breton and pride to locals. Individually, John Morris Rankin on fiddle and piano was one of the greatest Cape Breton traditional players and tune-writers. Cookie, Heather, and Raylene bring their gorgeous voices and heavenly harmonies to the mix. Jimmy Rankin is the song-writer and has gone on to a successful solo career. The band was often joined by Howie Macdonald, another exceptional Cape Breton fiddler. For those new to the Rankin Family, I cannot recommend highly enough their superb DVD - The Rankin Family - Backstage Pass. It is a collection of songs & tunes from live concerts and interviews with the band members. It captures brilliantly the pure magic that was The Rankin Family in concert.
