ADDINGLife before CDs...
I was puzzled to see a release date of 1996 for Kottke's 6- and 12-String Guitar when going to the tune-page to vote a resounding "5" for Watermelon. As an awe-struck non-professional guitarist, I have all Leo's masterpieces ON VINYL from before the days of compact disc. Not that I was ever able to add any of his tunes to my repertoire. The most I could do was incorporate ideas and 'the easy bits' into my playing.
The orginal release date for Kottke's classic is 1969, in the event you are wondering. Timeless and still awe-inspiring all these years later... I still wonder how he keeps his fingers from smoking!
