The U.S. dollar is propped up by its power to purchase oil. When Saddam began trading his oil in Euros, that sealed his fate.
The song is a mixed bag. I'll certainly give Amy Martin credit for confronting the Bush/Cheney propaganda and consumerism. But the reference to "white men" is the usual ridiculous recitation of the activist script. The last time I checked, there were millions people with brown and black skin who burn tons of oil every day.
