ADDINGPatrick Meets the Brickbats
This is an amazingly inventive track. Sam Bush, Bryan Sutton, and (I think) Stuart Duncan are fabulous, but Jerry Douglas' dobro playing is simply astounding. The chord structure allows the soloists to improvise at length, and they make the most of the opportunity. Douglas' musicality and his ability to generate excitement make this one of the all-time best dobro pieces, along with Mike Auldridge's "Spanish Grass" (the version with Vic Jordan on banjo) and Uncle Josh's "Randy Lynn Rag."
