ADDINGGreat song, great version, never heard it before What a surprise! Less maudlin than the version on (I think) Plastic Ono Band posted byRichard Cowan on May 05, 2005, 03:27:30 pm | Lennon Sorry. The Beatles had their day. They do not belong on a folk channel. Let those of today have the time. posted by Philip Feeley on August 18, 2006, 11:21:54 am | Lennon There are lots of folks I don't think belong in Folk Music, but they're here and the music has changed because of it. John Lennon playing an acoustic guitar and singing without electric is fine with me. What the heck is the definition of folk these days anyway? It's pretty up in the air. Back in the 1960's we thought it had to be totally non electric and most of it had political overtones. When was the last time any one even wrote a political tune, out side of a very few guys and gals out there like Tom Paxton who's still going strong... Tom's had his day too. Would you say he shouldn't get air time? It's all subjective my friend. posted by Ted Wilby on November 03, 2006, 10:36:19 pm |
