It's difficult to pin Martin Sexton down. A clever singer/songwriter, his real talent lies in his live shows, which often incorporate sounds and vocal tricks honed from his years as a street performer. He raised money for his first CD by busking on street corners in Boston, a make-or-break kind of town for folk musicians and from these humble beginnings, he built a fanbase and found himself on a major label. Sexton's music ranges from straight folk and break-your-heart blues to pure pop with a little rock thrown in for good measure. For his performance at the 42nd Kent State Folk Festival, Sexton brought opener Ryan Montbleau on stage to build on his sound.
This concert was recorded live at the Kent Stage in November 2008 by Jimmie Wilson during the 42nd Kent State Folk Festival in Kent, Ohio.
