Focus On: Dave Rawlings Machine

David Rawlings and Gillian Welch have a very special relationship. Both talented artists, he plays behind her on her solo work and she returns the favor, making up the other half of Dave Rawlings Machine - which focuses on Rawlings' music and is a little more racous than Welch. The pair performed in both configurations at George Wein's Folk Festival 50 in Newport, Rhode Island in Aug. '09. Folk Alley recorded Rawlings as frontman and his very able back-up singer Welch from the Folk Alley mobile recording studio as the "band" played the Harbor Stage.
