Folk Alley presents the December Holiday Stream featuring nearly 50 hours of some of our favorite Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice and winter music by artists like Rhonda Vincent, Over the Rhine, Sufjan Stevens, Christine Lavin, Lyle Lovett, John Fahey, the Asylum Street Spankers, Leon Redbone, Bela Fleck, The Roches... and lots more!

(For people who would rather avoid holiday sounds, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, our main stream will remain filled with Folk Alley's usual mix of great music covering a variety of topics.)

Can we slip in some Hanukkah music as well? Mark Cohn's "Rock of Ages" from the Festival of Light album would be nice.

My Happy Christmas Soundtrack! Thanks for the sidestream!

Alas, the stream isn't working in my Droid app for some reason. I click on it, and it bounces me out of the app and doesn't play anything. :( It's on the PC, though, and I'm loving it.

The Holiday Stream is available on Folk Alley's iPhone and Droid Player apps, plus on Tune In. Unfortunately on TuneIn, you have to click the IRISH Music stream to find the Holiday Stream. (Thanks a lot Tune In!!)

Can I get the holiday stream to an app on my iPod, such as Tunein radio or even the folk alley player?

Is the stream not working this morning? I am trying to get thru the work day.

Thanks Linda. Great news!

Here's a secret for anyone trying to listen to the Holiday Stream on TuneIn. If you search for Folk Alley and you find our Irish Music stream... that will actually play the Holiday Stream... we've contacted TuneIn and asked that they change it, but apparently operators there are not standing by....

I am able to listen to Folk Alley via Tunein Radio on my Blackberry, but can't get the Holiday Season stream. Anyone have any ideas? I even tried typing the URL in the search box of Tunein Radio, but to no avail.

Have been enjoying the holiday stream for the last several days. Thank you.

I can't listen to the holiday stream on my iphone. I get the little "donate" blurb without a problem but then it just seems to be continuously buffering. I don't have this problem with the main stream.

Why does the stream stop every 10 to 15 minutes and have to be restarted?

Is it possible to obtain a full list of the Holiday Stream?

Thankyou for all this wonderful Christmas/Holiday music. Have I missed the Poacher's Christmas by The Kipper Family. Sure do miss Matt Watroba's Christmas show here in Detroit.

It's not the holidays for me until I hear "Christmas Eve, Lakeside Topless Revue"...

Hugh -- I've sent you an e-mail with instruction on how to set up your Grace Internet Radio. If anyone else needs details, please e-mail me at webmaster@folkalley.com. Thanks, and happy holidays from Folk Alley!

I have a Grace tuner connected to my sound system , but am unable to get the Christmas stream. The display does show the Folk Alley On Demand option but does not display the Christmas Stream when I select the option. Any suggestions? I am able to get the Christmas Stream on my pc.

I also do not get a pop-up playlist for the holiday stream on winamp. I do get a momentary pop-up for the normal members-only stream. I do enjoy the holiday stream, even if it will not tell me who's playing. The only way I can get a playlist is if I leave a browser open to the web page. I don't like leaving a browser open, but I don't see another choice, if I want to know who is playing.

Terri...I use the winamp player, and the list pops up for me. Happy listening.

I realize there is a list of artists if I leave the website open but the holiday stream does not have a "pop-up" playlist format. I usually exit the website while I am listening. If I have the pop-up playlist up I can see who the artists are without being on the website.

I welcome this stream every year, it is so refreshing to hear holiday music in new arrangements, never the worn out stuff on mainstream radio. I think it is meaningful that my musician friends love station, too! Be of good cheer, everyone. And to all, may the new year be healthy and kind!!

Scroll up, Terri.

I love the holiday stream and the variety is fabulous. I usually close all but the pop-up playlist when I am listening to regular streaming but the holiday stream has no pop-up playlist - so I do not know the artists that are playing in the holiday stream - any possibility of getting that?

'Twas the week before finals and all through the school The students are whining like regular fools. The grading is stacked high up over my head, and I wonder if ever I'll curl up in my bed. When what to my wondering ears should appear, But Folk Alley's Holiday stream full of cheer. Other faculty are weeping and gnashing their teeth But the holiday music settles round me like a soft, gentle wreath So, thanks again Folk Alley for this cup of good cheer, Joyeaux Noel to all and a folk-filled New Year.
