Lynn Miles wrote her first song at age 10 - the beginning of a prolific career that includes eight albums, from 1996's Slightly Haunted to the Juno Award-nominated Fall from Beauty. She won the Juno for Solo Roots or Traditional Album for Unravel and has numerous Canadian Folk Awards on her shelf. With a three-octave vocal range and a talent for combining melody and insightful lyrics, Miles has been praised by critics and fans alike.
Miles was born outside of Montreal, but now spends her time off the road in Ottawa, Ontario. She has been performing since still in her teens and, in her exclusive interview with Folk Alley's Matt Watroba, Miles discusses the real craft of songwriting and talks about her history as a touring musician. Plus, she takes up harmonica and guitar to play a few songs.
