Review Comments: I was so sure I'd like this album, I preordered it. I'm not disappointed. In addition to his usual blues and slide guitar excellence, he tries out a few new things, including revisioning Phil Och's "Changes". It takes me a while to decide if I like a cover of a song I love in the original, but this one is already growing on me after only listening to it twice.

Two originals that stand out for me are "Whiskey Vacation" and "Thick Skin Blues" ("Kind as a Minnesota blizzard, and sometimes just as warm"). Also the ballad "Marching Still" is lovely. Overall, I'm delighted.
