Excellent follow up holiday set

Album Rating: (5 of 5 stars)

Review Comments: The Now Christmas Volume 1 set was a five star smash. Hard to top but Volume 2 of the series has just as much of a diverse and good selection. Destiny's Child with Opera of the Bells is a wonderful opening. Elton John, Wham and other 70s and 80s singers get their due. Love Peggy Lee's Happy Holiday and Celine's O Holy Night. And Andy Griffith does a surprisingly good job with Go Tell it on the Mountain. Throw in Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, Striesand, and a live version of Jose's Feliciano's Feliz Navidad and you've got a eclectic but great sounding collection of tunes, something to please everybody. A MUST HAVE for your holiday CD collection.

Pop Christmas

Album Rating: (4 of 5 stars)

Review Comments: This set of 2 cd's is great to help get into the holiday spirit with some old classic Christmas carols that have a more modern sound.

So Good I Bought It Three Times

Album Rating: (5 of 5 stars)

Review Comments: I originally purchased this collection for myself several years ago when it first came out because I owned no holiday music of my own and missed my family's tradition of playing it near-constantly after Thanksgiving since I had moved away from home. At the time, I was taking the "more bang for my buck" route - the collection cost just as much as 1 CD and had over twice as many songs. As a country music fan, I suspected I'd be listening to the same few songs over and over again, but that turned out to be a wrong assumption.

The very first song that got played twice was the first song that played. Indeed, Destiny's Child's "Opera of the Bells" is probably the most played song in the collection and it set the bar for all other songs to be judged by. Excessive play over the years, plus a bad CD player, eventually prompted me to need to replace my CDs. This holiday season I discovered Amazon selling not only the CDs, but the MP3 collection as well. I ordered the MP3s for myself and sent the CD collection to a music-loving friend as part of a secret Santa gift exchange. Upon receipt, she sang the collection's praises in her LiveJournal - clearly a winning choice.

Now That's What I Call Christmas 2 delivers such a powerful variety of music, both in artists and art styles, as to make any Grinch or Scrooge feel the Christmas spirit.

Review

Album Rating: (4 of 5 stars)

Review Comments: I really liked this 2 cd collection because it contains one cd with modern contemporary music and one cd with the older classics. So depending on your mood or the people you are with, there is something to please everyone. In my opinion, it was worth the purchase.

New and old holiday hits

Album Rating: (4 of 5 stars)

Review Comments: This CD is really nice because it has both the older holiday music and the newer holiday music. That way my daughter and my mother both can listen to the same CD and enjoy it together.
