Dar Williams - Beauty of the Rain cd review

Album Rating: (2 of 5 stars)
Review Comments: Not sure about this one. She has a lot of talent. I've been listening to her music since her cover of Better Things off of The End of the Summer, which was very good. What do you hear in these sounds? is one of the best songs about therapy I've EVER heard
But most of the songs here don't really leave much of an impression. Closer to you is a good song, nice and catchy. But a lot of this music is incredibly sad, or at the very least melancholy
You gotta give her points for doing the Bands Whispering Pines, but a lot of these songs don't really move me, and most of the songs I never really wanna hear again
I'm sorry
It's DVD-Audio, It's Not Supposed To Play On Your PC

Album Rating: (5 of 5 stars)
Review Comments: Just stumbled across the inane "review" that was posted for "The Beauty of the Rain" DVD-Audio. DVD-A's aren't meant to be played on computers, so I don't see why Dar's excellent album should get a misleading one-star rating because the buyer erred with their purchase.
For those who have a compatible universal player, the DVD-A of this album is fantastic. You'll hear lots of musical details that you won't on the regular CD.
Dar is so sad

Album Rating: (5 of 5 stars)
Review Comments: "The Beauty of the Rain" is overall a sad, soul baring CD. The best song on the album in "Closer to Me" about a couple growing up to grow together. It was even featured on an episode of Laguna Beach. "Mercy of the Fallen" and "I Saw a Bird Fly Away" are both fairly catchy, but I don't think I really understand the songs. "The World's Not Falling Apart" is probably the most upbeat song on the album.
Like the Music, Can't Play the CD
Album Rating: (1 of 5 stars)
Review Comments: Unfortunately, this is not the format in which to buy this great CD. I can't play it in my computer's CD player, because it isn't a DVD player, and I can't use iTunes to copy it into my iPod. Get the regular CD!
Music for both mind and heart

Album Rating: (4 of 5 stars)
Review Comments: This album sets thought provoking lyrics to beautiful melodies that pleasantly haunt your soul. It was only a few months ago that I unintenionally stumbled upon "The Beauty of the Rain" (on the internet), and was captivated by the song, and by the extraorinarily gifted, Dar Williams.
