A fine piece of music

Review Comments: A fan of Alasdair Fraser for many years and have several of his recordings. I would say this recording has a bit more traditional scottish feel than Skyedance and a little livelier than Fire and Grace. If you like Alasdair, this is a must.

Review Comments: This was the first album of Alasdair's that I owned. It's still probably my favorite. It inspired me to learn to play the fiddle. The first songs I learned were from this album. I would recommend this CD to anyone interested in Scottish fiddle music. You can't get better than this.
One of my favourites.

Review Comments: This is an amazing CD! I listen to it over and over again, and never get tired of it. I think those who never listen to violin music are really missing out.
Absolutely Must Own

Review Comments: The Road North is my favorite Alasdair Fraser CD. In fact, I think I would place it on my Top 10 Favorite Music list. It introduced me and my family to the soul of Scottish music and inspired both of my kids to buy violins with their own money and start taking lessons of their own volition. I thought my hair would be on ends to listen to two kids practising violin with all the screeches and scratches of learning, but when they are playing songs from The Road North, I am in bliss. Having never performed in public before and only starting lessons 10 months earlier, my son played Slow Train for his high school graduation ceremony to a packed auditorium. His hands were shaking but the notes of that wonderful song touched the hearts of many. I am grateful to this cd for its powerful inspiration. Even if you're not that into Celtic music, The Road North will find a place in your soul and in your music collection.
Travel THE ROAD NORTH!

Review Comments: Alasdair Fraser and Paul Machlis combine their considerable talents on this evocative CD! Mr. Fraser's virtuosity is a joy for the senses. The CD is pure listening bliss! A worthy addition to your CD collection if you enjoy Scottish fiddle music. I have two copies of this CD--one in the car and one in the house, that's how much I love it!
