Description: The Lehigh Valley Railroad is an actual railroad that used to run through Buffalo NY, which is where I’m from. I did quite a bit of research before I wrote this track, and once I read its history I knew I had to write about it. The song itself goes back and forth between facts, personal anecdotes, and fiction to tell this story that I wanted to create. I also got to use the word “anthracite” in a song, which was fun to work in. I chose this for the album title as well, because what better way to pay homage to the city that inspired a record than by using a piece of its history in the name?
