Boceto Andaluz

Album: Marco Plays Classical Guitar
Category: Instrumental, Traditional, World

This song has been applauded!
not our pick   our pick
Description: Bartolome Calatayud collected this song in the early 1900s. I found this in a book published shortly before he passed away in the early 1970s.
Calatayud collected a lot of ancient songs that the surface learner would simply call "flamenco" but there's a whole lot of medieval, baroque and other nuances throughout. I don't think Calatayud ever called himself an ethnomusicologist, but it's quite apparent.
Here's my interpretation of his Boceto. Tell me you can't hear the newly ripe grapefruits naturally (and matter of factly) hitting the ground during this Andalucian Village folksong!
