Artist Biography:
Raised in a large and musically diverse family, Mark grew to appreciate many genres of music at an early age. After hearing Alex Lifeson of Rock Power Trio RUSH play classically influenced guitar solos and song intros, Mark was instantly hooked on Fingerstyle Guitar. He knew what he wanted to do; Play guitar, and play it very well. Four years of Classical guitar lessons followed, after which time Mark began experimenting with electric and acoustic steel string guitars and he's been honing his style and ever evolving technique ever since. Influences include a wide array of players...Alex Lifeson,Andres Segovia,Stevie Ray Vaughan,Phil Keaggy,Doyle Dykes,Chet Atkins,Peppino Augustino,Mark Knopfler,Pat Metheny,John Scofield...the list goes on and on. The result, as evidenced by Mark's debut CD Release, "Mark Steven Brocke - Completed", is
Crystal clear and spirit filled instrumental fingerstyle acoustic guitar. Fingerstyle guitar is "genre bending" by nature and Mark's style is no exception to this rule. Mark's original compositions and arrangments of popular songs cover many genres, from Latin jazz and bebop to country / blues, new-age, gospel and classical-esque -

Reviews: "I love fingerstyle steel string guitar. This is the stuff I love to hear. You can tell Mark is keenly aware of the tonality possibilities of his instrument and plays it to it's potential with feeling and finesse. nIce stuff ... let's hear more! God bless." - Bruce Petros -
