Artist Biography:
The Village Jammers have been bluegrass favorites along the Connecticut and Rhode Island shorelines for nearly three decades. Starting as the house band at the now defunct Village Pub in Stonington Borough, Connecticut. And while packing the house with their own rollicking style of bluegrass, swing, and folk-a-billy, they began the generous practice of inviting fellow musicians ---- some good, some dying trying ---- to share their stage.

The "Jammers" are part bluegrass band, part comedy troupe, part working-class Joes ---- a century of collective experience on stringed instruments, witty stage sarcasm and good ol' boy beer connoiseurship.

Their CD entitled " 'Till It Happens To You " has gotten great reviews and is being played regularly on numerous radio stations.

The CD was tracked at Alchemy Studio in Rhode Island by Bob Cowley; additional tracking, overdubs, and mixing by Jim at LOCO DARE; produced by Jim and The Village Jammers; mastered by John Eberle of Americana Mastering in Nashville.

Special guests on the recording include: Tommy "G" Giarratano (classical guitar), Jay Dempsey (harmony vocals), and Jim Carpenter (guitar, mandolin, percussion).

NOTE OF INTEREST: A collaborative CD entitled "Cowboy Dreams", recorded at LOCO DARE by Jim, featuring songs by the Village Jammers' ace songwriter Curtiss Thompson, as well as instrumental contributions by Dan Ravenelle, Tommy Giarratano, Geoff Corkhill, Billy Light and Jim (Tuff It Up and Little Victorys), were used in the soundtrack of David Wittkower's 2002 film "Cowboy Up" ( as well as two additional films entitled "Turn and Burn" and "Drive of a Champion".
