Artist Biography:
Kathryn Rose Wood is a New Orleans-based musician with a background as a clinical music therapist, guitarist/vocalist, and songwriter. Her music, including the first two singles, “Lullaby (To Preston)” and “Big Steel Wings,” from the forthcoming album ‘In The Ashes,’ has been featured across national music and mental health press. Former bandleader/guitarist of Social Set (New Orleans, RnB/Pop) and vocalist of Gravy Flavored Kisses (New Orleans, Blues/Rock), as well as background vocalist for other New Orleans entities, Wood has played leading music festivals including Gretna Heritage Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and Bayou Boogaloo Festival, as well as nationally-renowned venues in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. She curated and hosted the only female-focused songwriter series in New Orleans, the Lilith in LOA Songwriter Series, from 2016-2017 and continues to play regularly around the Greater New Orleans area. Wood will embark on her first Southeastern tour in December 2017.
