Artist Biography:
A child of lust and fury, Rebecca Karpen was birthed ‘neath a blood moon one February night to Quartilla of the Priapic priestesses. Taken from her native land shortly after birth, Rebecca began singing to drown the sorrows of her people in exile, the 'homo superior', but only worsened the situation. It wasn’t long before her somber lyrics became the subject of many a legend. People travel from far and wide to make pilgrimage to her humble abode in the East Village and listen to the famed angst-ridden exultations, appropriately accompanied by the sultry baritone ukulele. Self-described as “the next Joni Mitchell”, and containing the fiery rage of a thousand Patti Smiths, Rebecca believes that we too may enter the light of a new age one day, perhaps led by the legendary ukulele siren herself.
