Artist Biography:
Welsh born but Yorkshire based folk singer and guitarist Michael Rossiter has been performing live for the past three years supporting the likes of Nina Nastasia, Eliza Carthy, Martin Carthy, Justin Adams, Jez Lowe, Sara Grey and more. In 2006/07 he took a break to appear as Woody Guthrie in Interplay Theatre's performance 'This Land' (Ralph McTell on Radio 4's Front Row "I loved it!"). Rossiter's latest release 'My Dearest Dear' (Folk Theatre) is a mixture of arrangements influenced by the late John Fahey, Leadbelly, Martin Carthy and early folk and blues recordings yet also accompanied by two original instrumentals opening and closing the album. Michael has since been heard on BBC Radio 3's Late Junction with Verity Sharp, BBC 6music with Tom Robinson and BBC Wales' Celtic Heartbeat.
