I picked my Top CDs of 2010 this year the same way I’ve picked my top CD list all other years. I don’t spend a lot of time intellectualizing which CDs are most deserving, instead I go by feel and ask myself one question. “What 2010 releases would I most want to take with me if I decide to drive across country?” These are, for me, the 2010 releases I know I’ll be reaching for 5, 10, 15+ years from now, and still enjoy them just as much as I do today. They’re in no particular order.
