Dylan Connection
This song recently received a recommendation from Bob Dylan. Like many of Dylan's songs, I predict that "Mercy" will be covered by others — who will perform it even better than Gauthier. She tends to swallow the words at the end of her singing range.

re: Mercy
She has a sweet voice, and the lyrics hold a universally important message, but by the end of this song I think me 'n' everybody listenin' "could use a little mercy now"!

The best
I think this is one of the greatest modern folk songs I've heard. Honest, real, personal, universal, condemning, loving, it's got it all. Unbelievable song! I love Mary Gauthier's songs (helluva nice woman, too).
