Focus On: Outside Track

Celtic music comes in many shapes and sizes. The Outside Track well represents the Celtic diaspora with members from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton and Vancouver, Canada. The rising quintet use traditional instrumentation and rhythms to create a contemporary sound that responds to the next generation of trad music fans. The band is made up of talented individuals:

Norah Rendell "REN duhl" flutes/vocals St Paul

Ivonne Hernandez Fiddler/dancer Victoria BC

Ailie Robertson Harp Edinburgh

Fiona Black Accordion from Scotland

Cillian O'Dalaigh guitar/vocals/ dancer Limerick Eire "KILL ee en O DALL ig"

- award-winners in their own rights coming together to ensure a bright future for Celtic music.

Recorded live in February 2011 at Happy Days Lodge as part of the Heritage Series in Cuyahoga Valley National Park by Craig Adams.

I loved this... As well as great music the atmosphere really puts a smile on your face. I think they should release it as a live album. Thanks Andrew

Wonderful sound. Good to here this group in action. I met Mairi Rankin years ago in Halifax. Glad to see she's still active in the business. Please come to Yellowknife if you ever get the chance. We are close to Edmonton!
