Focus On: Annabelle Chvostek

Annabelle Chvostek began her career as a solo artist, took a side trip as a Wailin' Jenny, and is now back on her own, creating great music. A talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Annabelle wrote many of the stand-out songs on the Jennys' JUNO-nominated Firecracker.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Annabelle made her debut as part of the Canadian Opera Company at age 7. Music was an inextricable part of her life after that, even as she worked as a journalist and in the film industry. Visits to India and Japan also added flavor to her insightful and rich, roots-based sound. Before joining the Jennys, she traveled to Europe with a new media performance piece. In all of her musical adventures, Annabelle charts her own course, bringing listeners along for a very special ride.

Recorded live in December 2010 at BluSeed Studios in Saranac Lake, New York by Jeff Oehler.
