Back Home From MerleFest

April 30, 2007

The Adventure may be over, but the fun lives on in the MerleFest blog. Check out our posts, pics and audio that Chris, Jim and I collected during this year's festival in Wilkesboro, NC from April 26 through 29. We will be adding my pictures (as soon as I can figure out how to get them out of the camera) and I'll be scanning some memorabilia. Thanks to all of the nice people we met and the artists that sat down with us - it was a great time for all (and I didn't mind at all sleeping in my car)!

MerleFest or Bust

April 6, 2007

Well, it looks like we're on our way to MerleFest (on our own collective dimes FYI) at the end of April. Hopefully, we'll be able to blog from there. I know that Chris is interested in doing some interviews. If you could talk to one of the performers at this year's MerleFest, who would it be? Check out the list on the MerleFest website and let me know (and, you know I'm not going to guarentee anything - I'm going to be camping, that's gotta make me a little grumpy - I wouldn't commit to the trip until Jim Blum found me a place to stay that had a shower and toilet). I'm going to bring stickers, so if you see me, be sure to ask. Bluegrass rules!

Download the AlleyCast for April

April 4, 2007

On the AlleyCast for April: Folk Alley's exclusive concert recording with Eric Bibb recorded in February of 2007. We'll hear a portion Folk Alley's interview with Suzzy Roche about The Roches' new record Moonswept. Also, three songs posted on Open Mic from Bob McCarthy, Sharla June and Jennifer Sherill. Plus, the obscure sounds of Heron, a band from the early 70's that recorded their albums outside, in open fields. Download the AlleyCast today.
