Pete Seeger on Letterman

October 3, 2008

For those of us that really meant to stay up and watch Pete Seeger (with Guy Davis, Ruthie Ungar Merenda, Tao Rodriguez-Seeger and I'm guessing Michael Merenda) on The Late Show with David Letterman, I found some video on YouTube. Great stuff, especially when Pete gets the audience to join in on the chorus and then clap along. I'll bet that doesn't happen too often with bands on Letterman.

Ann, thanks so much for posting this. I'd been looking for it since Pete appeared on Letterman.

For those who have not yet heard "At 89," "Take it From Dr. King is not, in fact, on that CD. It is on "Seeds: The Songs of Pete Seeger", Volume 3, Disc 1, available from Appleseed Records.

"At 89" is brilliant... I listen to it again and again–– a welcome respite and hopeful alternative to disheartening current events...

That's Jake Silver on upright bass, not Mike.

PLEASE NOTE! I made a mistake in my previous comment.

FOR PETE'S SAKE,SING concerts will be coordinated for Sun. May 3, 2009 (not Fri. May 1st). May 3rd is actually Pete's 90th birthday and the day before Labor Day.
