Nice to see the rest of the world getting a chance to hear the voice we "Philly pholkies" have treasured for years, Gene Shay. Nice to see him be recognized for his contributions as DJ of the year.

Yea Kerrville Folk Festival!
The first thing you experience when driving in the gate is an enthusiastic, "WELCOME HOME!", and they mean it!
KFF is truly a warm and wonderful experience, and some of the best music is in the camps after hours - at ALL hours! I was able to see and meet four of my favorite artists in just one evening - and there are 18 full days of performances. Congrats to KFF!

Ah yes...Gene Shay. We share friends in the Jersey girls, Mel and Lisa, we've shared campfires at Falcon Ridge and he always came back for more camp snack offerings. But now having recently moved from Philly, I've missed him on xpn's Sunday folk show. But this...this recognition AND being Folk Alley's new host, well it brings it all back home. Congrats!
