Congratulations Chad! Enjoy your Folk Festival moment ... every morsel of it. I'm happy to see Lissa and Jim in the footnotes and thank FA for the opportunity to participate.
Warm wishes from North Ontario!
- Barry
p.s. Linda and Ann ~ a gargantuan North Ontario bear hug for your seeing the inaugural Open Mic through to its fruition.
Congratulations Chad! Have a blast at Kent, hope you can make it to DC in March!
Way to go Chad! KSFF is getting a real treat this year!

Ataboy Chad!
... and well done to you, Jim. "People's Choice Award"! Does that mean you can run for Senate now?
The judging must have been really hard, the songs were all fabulous, congratulations to everyone for a great job.
Congratulations, Chad! Have a great time at Kent State, and may this lead to many more hours in the folkie limelight.
And to all of you at Folk Alley, thanks again. It was an honor to be part of this contest.
- Sandy
Couldn't have gone to a better song or person, great work Chad, hope you blow them away at Kent. It was great to be a part of it.
I heartily concur with my esteemed colleague Mr Mindlin. Well done Chad. Where is Kent State? Jim - as People's Choice, I'll see if I can find you the Order of Lenin at my local fleamarket.
Really wish I could be there at Kent to hear it all come together. Congratulations Chad!
Glad that Jim Pipkin's "Tommynockers" and Lissa Schneckenberger's "Irish Girl" will be added to the Folk Alley stream as well.
Huw - Kent State is near Akron, Ohio, just a bit west of you.
This appears to have resulted in Jim's departure from ths site .... We've been looking at this contest and Open Mic in some details over on Linda's other posting "What to do ... What to do...?" - come join us.
... and Barry McLoughlin's ...
... at least from Open Mic ...
Celebration here. Cerebration at the "What to do ... What to do...?" thread.
Ohio? My TFL Oyster card won't get me there! I'd better get over to "What to do ... What to do...?"
Kudos on terrific songs and performances to Chad, Lissa and Jim! These weren't the only songs I was pulling for, but they were definitely on my short list.
Congratulations to the winners. I am constantly amazed at how much talent is "out there!" The internet is a great thing, allowing us all to hear all this great, great stuff. Folk on!
Hurray and congratulations to the winners definitely, but also to everyone in the finals. IMHO Open Mic is a gift to the listening world and the cherry on top of Folk Alley. Nice meeting Lissa and hearing her LIVE at the Geneva, IL Folk Music Festival last weekend!
