I'm going to a show at the Ark

August 14, 2004

I don't take many vacations, but I thought it might be fun to drive to Ann Arbor, MI tonight and see Mustard's Retreat at the Ark. Hopefully I won't get too lost. I'll have a bag of Folk Alley stuff, so if you see me (I'll be wearing my Folk Alley shirt) stop by and say "howdy!" Ann

Ahhh. I love hearing stories about music lovers (hey, I'm borderline fanatic) jumping in the car to travel to go hear music. And especially, I love being the one that gets to do it!

This week, here in soggy wet Virginia, the Sweet Harmony Traveling Revue, composed of THE Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller, (whew!), will be at Wolf Trap, near our nation's capital. A most mellow and acoustically perfect venue. I decided this was how and where I wanted to spend my birthday so we grabbed lawn seat tickets (cheap and who needs to be up front when you've got a blanket on the grass!?)

Then, of course, there's Crosby Stills & Nash at the beach here on Wednesday. 6th row.

Music cures what ails you. Gather up, gather in.

Peace,
Deirdre

I'm sooooo jealous! Michael and David are my favorites! They came to our (Dulci-More) Festival this year, and we had a wonderful time. Please give them a big hug from me. Too bad I couldn't have skipped work and bummed a ride with you. Can't wait to hear how much fun it was!

I'll be at Folkatorium (Akron OH) Saturday evening to hear "Northern Cross" after playing and singing at a picnic music jam in the afternoon. We musicians just can't get enough tunes! Love listening all day at work!
